We do not live in Manchester but visit quite often and have been to Kakoli before but this was the first time since refurbishment. Firstly I was impressed that, after I telephoned to book but my call could not be answered because it was outside of opening hours, they called me back within half an hour. The person speaking was very polite and welcoming. I was very glad that I had booked because it was almost full - it was a Friday evening. However, not long after, by 8.15, most people had left. Our order was taken and the food arrived at a perfect speed, not too fast but neither very slowly. The menu is comprehensive and, as they state, vegetarians and vegans are catered for. The chef is happy to adjust any dish to suit your requirements and the food was delicious and served hot. He came to speak to us to ensure that we were satisfied with our meal. His and the entire staff’s ethos is that the customer is important and they want everyone to have a good meal and an enjoyable evening. The restaurant itself is quite small but you do not feel squashed in and the decor is clean and bright. You can bring your own alcohol which means that you can have your favourite drink. The cost is very reasonable - far cheaper than we pay in Essex - perhaps I shouldn’t say that or the prices might rise! We had a lovely evening, will certainly be returning - as will our son who lives in Manchester - and recommend Kakoli highly.

1st time trying here & honestly Best curry in a long time. Partner rated it better than highly rated places he’s been in London. Absolutely amazing and food was to absolute perfection! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

What a place over 30 years old ! A little gem set in Droyslden Tameside! Tram stop & bus stops if you don’t want to drive . This place has been updated & upgraded the staff have worked hard to make it relaxing atmosphere to eat in . The food is cooked to perfection Indian food is beautiful & well spiced and well plated these guys do all that ! Menu is very affordable & easy to follow click on their link get 20% off take away ! Amazing food and service. Tried papadam, mixed starter, lamb korai, garlic - coriander nan, special mixed biryani. Definitely more delicious comparing to traditional Indian restaurants. Highly recommended.

Fabulous food yesterday, great friendly service. Definitely recommend a trip there to try the curries for yourself. Went again on Sunday. The food was even better than before! Service great again. You can now bring your own wine or beer if you want to. So good we have just recommended it to some of our friends and a few people we met yesterday. We are going to try a takeaway soon. Update- we recently ordered a takeaway. As before when we ate at the restaurant, the takeaway was delicious! Chicken Korai, yummy! Highly recommend trying it yourself and visiting the restaurant.

The decoration of the restaurant was mind blowing. After refurbished the entire restaurant was changed.Went two times and restaurant was damn busy.Foods were awesome. mouth watering with authentic taste. Comparatively cheap than other restaurants.Staffs were so cordial.Enjoyed with my kids and peers

My new favourite Indian restaurant in East Manchester. Ive had amazing food on every visit and the chef's take a personal interest in making food not on the menu which I find rare in Manchester. It's just a few meters from from the Edge Lane tram stop, so very easy to access. Note: You need to bring your own alcohol! For me that's a big plus as I can drink my favourite tipple with my favourite food without paying a premium price. You won't be disappointed this restaurant is what Indian food is about in East Manchester. 10/10

Love this place. It's a very traditional and authentic place, takes me back to the 90s in a good way! They adjusted my husbands dietary requirements with precision as he can't eat vegetable_sunflower oils so they only used Ghee at our request and checked regularly that my husband was okay. Lovely and very accommodating staff. Don't be afraid to ask if you require any adjustments!
